Dr. Charles Clark, DDS, received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1996, and went on to serve 12 years of military service in the US Army. During his time in service, Dr. Clark attended a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program and his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Eisenhower Medical Center/ Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.
Dr. Clark is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and in Dental Anesthesiology by the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology. He is a delegate to the Texas Dental Association and serves on the Texas Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Political Action Committee. He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Chalmers Lyons Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Honorary Society and the Central Texas Dental Society.
Dr. Clark’s interest in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was sparked by a colleague’s facial injury during a baseball game. During his residency, he had the opportunity to hone his skills in facial repair on patients with cleft lip and palate, cancer surgery, and traumatic injuries associated with the military. He was selected for the Army’s specialty Head and Neck surgical team in Iraq, attending to patients with explosive and gunshot injuries to the face.
Dr. Clark was selected as a staff surgeon to train residents in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center, regarding all aspects of reconstructive and cosmetic repair of facial injuries. Although Dr. Clark enjoys all areas of his specialty, his unique background offers patients in Waco a level of care that has not been available in the past.
Dr. Clark is widely published and lectures locally, nationally and internationally. He is an instructor to the Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Courses. He holds active staff privileges at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Providence Health Center, Waco Surgical Center, Fishpond Surgery Center, and Navarro Regional Hospital.
Originally from Comfort, Texas, Dr. Clark is pleased to be a community member in Central Texas and is a local Rotarian. In his time away from practice, he enjoys spending time with his family, attending Aggie football games, and is an avid hunter and fisherman.
